Health Statistics for Smokers

This health statistics for total adult smokers by country is extracted from www.NationMaster.com.

Comment!!!

Hi friends i would like to comment about the article that i have posted below which i extracted from the BBC website. This article was written by one of the tourist who visited UK and was apparently shocked to see people in UK smoking. This is because the tourist is from Melbourne, Australia and smoking there was banned 5 years ago. This is something new for me as i did not know that there is a country which has banned smoking. People there can only smoke in clubs and pubs. This is something really good and i wish we could actually bring up that rules in Malaysia. As smoking only causes negative effects for the rest of the people who inhales it. It is just that i do not see any good or positive effects by smoking...what do you blogger think about this article? Please write in your comments!!!
"We live in Melbourne but visit the UK a couple of times a year, which we love doing, to catch up with friends and family.

One of the major disadvantages is that smoking is still allowed there.

Smoking in Australia was banned 5 years ago apart from pubs and some clubs. The ban received massive public support.

When we come back to England why do we have to be afflicted with the smell, the health hazard and the litter of cigarette ends?

We don't want the smell in our clothes and our hair. We don't want the stuff polluting our lungs. We don't want to look at the garbage on the streets.

We fully support the right for smokers to practice their filthy habit furtively and in private.

It is now the 21sy Century and toleration of smoking is no longer what civilized countries do".

Should tobacco be banned in Malaysia?

Hey friends out there well this question came up in my business communication class 2 days ago..Whether tobacco should be banned in our country? Well my reply was yes...I totally agree with that idea that tobacco should be banned in Malaysia. This is because there isn't any goodness in tobacco till today we only hear the negative affects of it and this clearly states that people are only gaining disadvantages for the sake of smoking cigarettes. And by banning tobacco industry in Malaysia government can actually use the tobacco plantation for other purposes like growing other types of plants and so on.Well this may sound too drastic but the thing is even by imposing higher taxes and increasing the prices does not help this tobacco industry to decrease. This is because people are not worried or even bothered about the prices as all they need is cigarettes. This shows how addicted people get into tobaccos as well as cigarettes. So friends I would appreciate it if u guys out there can give me more comments about this topic as I want to know how many of them agrees and disagrees with me. So I am hoping to read more comments...thank you!!!

What is in a cigarette?

Cigarette smoke contains more than 4000 types of different chemicals which includes noxious gases and tiny droplets of tar which can cause cancer and also nicotine a highly addictive drug. One puff of the fag that we inhale is equivalent to the chemicals which are found in insecticide, explosives and floor cleaner, ant poison, nail polish remover, weed killer, self tanning lotion and also aviation fuel.So guys doesn't this sound scary...I am sure you guys will be freaked out after reading this as i am thinking of you people out there who smokes. So, basically its also known as a slow killer as it spoils and damages our inner organs.

Cigarette Smoking...

Cigarette smoking is very hazardous to health. All of us are aware of this and yet the population of people who are smoking is just growing everyday. Currently an international based survey was conducted and the results shows that the men smokers have reduced as compared to the women smokers. And this is very true as we can see it for ourselves when ever we go out. And most of these people who smokes start smoking quite early when they reach their teens. It is hard for them to come out of it if they start it that early as they tend to get addicted to it as it contains a very high percentage of nicotine's. And they also find it hard to stay away from smoking as they will have to maintain the nicotine levels in the brains as to avoid negative affects of the nicotine withdrawal and also to modulate mood.

Regular smokers tend to exhibit higher and lower levels of stress and arousal, as compared with the non smokers and also have a higher impulsive and neurotic ism trait values. And those who becomes dependant in this nicotine's will go through major depression, anxiety disorders, and so on and this is why when they quit smoking they find it hard to cope up with that lifestyle as they tend to loose their strength and self confidence.

So friends out there who smokes, well I am sure by reading my blogs you guys will roughly know more information about cigarette smoking and soon you guys will also be aware of the health diseases caused by this smoking habit and I hope you guys will try to reduce and quit smoking gradually as there are many ways to help smokers to quit smoking nowadays.

Continuation..history of tobaco part 2

Today I am going to continue about the history of tobacco so there we go part 2...Christopher Columbus is the first sailor who got the tobacco plants as a gift from the American Indians and after then only the rest of the sailors brought it back to Europe and tobacco plant was grown well all over Europe. The tobacco plants was growing very well all over Europe because the people there had the same believes just like the American Indians. They believed that tobacco cures all types of sicknesses. Such as cancers, and so on...

Tobacco was also used as money back in the 1600's. It was as valuable as the gold!! So now we know how much it was valued back then, but nowadays it is not the same as more values are given for the cigarettes which contains tobacco as the main ingredient. And people nowadays do not use tobacco plants for curing any types of illness as they are more into modern medications. So basically the tobacco plant travelled to one country and another through the sailors and that is how it reached Malaysia as well. So I'm signing off now and will be up with a new title tomorrow..brand new one...that is all for now hope to hear more and more comments..
