This health statistics for total adult smokers by country is extracted from www.NationMaster.com.

Comment!!!

Hi friends i would like to comment about the article that i have posted below which i extracted from the BBC website. This article was written by one of the tourist who visited UK and was apparently shocked to see people in UK smoking. This is because the tourist is from Melbourne, Australia and smoking there was banned 5 years ago. This is something new for me as i did not know that there is a country which has banned smoking. People there can only smoke in clubs and pubs. This is something really good and i wish we could actually bring up that rules in Malaysia. As smoking only causes negative effects for the rest of the people who inhales it. It is just that i do not see any good or positive effects by smoking...what do you blogger think about this article? Please write in your comments!!!
"We live in Melbourne but visit the UK a couple of times a year, which we love doing, to catch up with friends and family.

One of the major disadvantages is that smoking is still allowed there.

Smoking in Australia was banned 5 years ago apart from pubs and some clubs. The ban received massive public support.

When we come back to England why do we have to be afflicted with the smell, the health hazard and the litter of cigarette ends?

We don't want the smell in our clothes and our hair. We don't want the stuff polluting our lungs. We don't want to look at the garbage on the streets.

We fully support the right for smokers to practice their filthy habit furtively and in private.

It is now the 21sy Century and toleration of smoking is no longer what civilized countries do".

Should tobacco be banned in Malaysia?

Hey friends out there well this question came up in my business communication class 2 days ago..Whether tobacco should be banned in our country? Well my reply was yes...I totally agree with that idea that tobacco should be banned in Malaysia. This is because there isn't any goodness in tobacco till today we only hear the negative affects of it and this clearly states that people are only gaining disadvantages for the sake of smoking cigarettes. And by banning tobacco industry in Malaysia government can actually use the tobacco plantation for other purposes like growing other types of plants and so on.Well this may sound too drastic but the thing is even by imposing higher taxes and increasing the prices does not help this tobacco industry to decrease. This is because people are not worried or even bothered about the prices as all they need is cigarettes. This shows how addicted people get into tobaccos as well as cigarettes. So friends I would appreciate it if u guys out there can give me more comments about this topic as I want to know how many of them agrees and disagrees with me. So I am hoping to read more comments...thank you!!!
